Intelligent, Beautiful, Energetic, Outgoing, Youthful, and HIV Positive – These words describe too many young women and girls living in the communities across the country.  The HIV/AIDS epidemic has severely impacted some metropolitan areas such as Washington, DC and Atlanta, GA.  HIV is a preventable disease and with education, awareness, and action we can work towards a world where not another woman, man, boy, or girl becomes infected.

Join Divas, MPH as we educate, empower, and serve at Saving Our Sisters (S.O.S) from HIV/AIDS: A Day of Labor & Love on Saturday, March 10, 2012, in honor of National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. Divas, MPH is excited to announce the inaugural event in the Atlanta metropolitan area and celebrate the 3rd Annual Saving Our Sisters event in the Washington DC metropolitan area.

In an effort to continue to provide innovative ways to educate, empower, and serve, Divas, MPH is keeping the event fresh and relevant by changing its structure.  Saving Our Sisters from HIV/AIDS: A Day of Labor and Love, will allow young women and men, ages 18-39, to engage in exciting service projects with local HIV/AIDS service organizations, increase knowledge on HIV prevention, and participate in an interactive town hall meeting focusing on HIV’s Impact on All of Us: Why the young, gifted, and black still choose pleasure over protection?  This unique summit structure will allow women and men in DC and Atlanta to put the knowledge and experience gained through the event immediately into practice.

Today, Divas, MPH urges you to take ACTION.  Sign up NOW to participate in our Day of Labor & Love service projects and our interactive town hall meeting.  Participation is FREE, all we ask is that you invest your time, efforts, and voice to helping to educate, empower, and serve women, men, boys, and girls on how to have healthy interactions with one another and eliminate their risk of contracting this preventable disease.  Your commitment of time and effort will benefit local HIV/AIDS service organizations and the communities they serve.
